Edna Mae (Heard) Macy died from Alzheimer’s Nov. 1 in Benton, Ark.
Born to Charlie and Ruth (Stobaugh) Heard, she became a Christian, attending Antioch Missionary Baptist Church as a member for over 60 years and Landmark Missionary Baptist Church for a short time. She also joined the Order of Eastern Star and the Order of the Rebekahs.
Edna Mae started making quilts with her mother at 16. She loved crocheting pillowcases, tablecloths and afghans for her family. She traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and Italy.
While working at Sears as a division manager in housewares, she met husband Ronald Macy. They married Dec. 10, 1959. She also worked as a skip-tracer for Collection Service, Inc. and St. Vincent’s Hospital. After retirement, she worked for Arkansas’ Employment Security Division. Continue reading
